On Monday, Feb. 18th the team travelled to West Rouge to open the series, and although they played poorly for two periods, rallied to earn a 5-3 victory. Phil Cochrane, Steve Jones, Kent Baird, Robert Evans and Larry Elson scored for the winners. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the Bantams returned to the ome rink for the second game and played one of their best games of the year and trounced West Rouge 13 to 2. Kent Baird had a big night with four goals, while singles went to Ed Olson, Larry Elson, Robert Evans, Stu Cochrane, Robert Baird, Steve Jones and Phil Coch- rane with two. On Friday, February 22 the two teams played the third game and this proved to-be the most exciting game of the series as the game went into overtime before the Port Perry team scored 3 goals to win 8-5. The Bantams again start- ed very slowly and played poor hockey as the West Rouge Club held a 3 to 1 lead in the second period, but the local club battled back and tied the game and forced overtime before winning it. Phil Cochrane lead the scoring with 2 goals with singles going to Ed Olson, Stu Cochrane, Colin Wackett and Mike M'Quade. Robert Evans had two goals in this game including 'the winning goal. Doug Larmer played the three strong games in goal for the local team and made numerous hard efforts at important times for a good effort. One of the big surprises during this series was the fine play of Mike Healey on defence. His strong perfor- mance teamed with Ed Ol- son and the other pairing of Scott Wilbur and Larry Elson made this pretty tough for the West Rouge forward. The Port Perry Bantams now play the Eastern Ont. Winners from Lakefield with the series expected to start on Thursday. So for exciting action come down to our local arean. (3 ry The N.H.L.
