Februdry 19th with Lindsay defeating the' Flamingos 4 to 2. The first goal was scored by Port Perry at 13.47 by Bourgeois from McLaughlin. It stayed that way until 17:57 of the second period when Abercrombie scored for Lindsay. In the third period Lindsay went ahead at the 6:04 mark on a goal by Graham. Then McLaughlin tied it up with an assist going to Bourgeois at9:54. Lindsay controlled the play for the rest of the game scoring 2 goals by West and Abercrombie scoring his second goal of the night. Aldred played a stand- out game in the net for Lindsay. Ken Davidson was just as good for Port Perry. The 4th game was played in Port Perry on Thursday night with Lindsay defeating the Port Perry Flamingos 3 to 2 to take the series. Lindsay went in to the lead on a goal by West at 11:59 and Abercrombie scored their second goal at 12:40, that was all the scoring in the first period. The Flamingos seemed to have control in the second period but could not put the puck in the net. At the 18:28 mark of the second period, Abercrombie scored his second goal of the night to make the score 3 - 0 for Lindsay. At the 45 second mark of the third period, McCoy scored for Port Perry, the assist going to Christie. Then McCoy scored his second goal with Christie assisting. This finished the scoring in the game. This was a very: close series which could have gone either way with each game. The Port Perry Flamingos put forth a good effort, giving everything they had. The Flamingos played good defencively but could not score enough goals. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1.G.A. held their 7th annual bonspiel at the curling rink. As this was a club bonspiel, all 64 ladies who took part were members of the Port Perry Club. First prize and trophy was won by Betty Beare and her rink and was presented by Jim Grieve. Members of the rink were «Ruby Smith, vice; Joyce Taylor, second; and Mary Brinkman, lead. They also each won a large bushel full of groceries. Second prize went to Marie Snooks, Camille Crozier, Joan Lee and Diane Puckrin.
