Annie McQuade On Saturday, February 16, 1974. M. Ann (Annie) Mec- Quade passed away at the Port Perry. Community Hospital. She was born in Cartwright Township on December 12, 1881, the third child of John Edgerton and Mary Gibson. She was in her 93rd year, On December 9th, 1908, the deceased married: the late Sydney McQuade and re- sided in Cartwright until her death. She was an active member of Yelverton United Church and Nestleton Pres- byterian Church. Mrs. .McQuade;-who was predeceased by her hysband in 1937, is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Mrs. D. Wilson) of Blackstock, grandson, Lloyd and great- granddaughter Valerie of West Hill, a brother Harry of Port Perry and Norman of Blackstock who has passed away since her death. She was predeceased by three - sisters Maria, Almeda and _ Lillian and two half-brothers Richard Edgerton and Thomas Hyland. The funeral service was conducted on Monday, Feb- ruary 18 by Rev. V. Parsons from McDermott-Panabaker Funeral Chapel. Interment was at Union Cemetery, Cadmus. Pallbearers were George Cole and Jack Archer of Port Hope, Murray Archer of Cobourgh, Gordon Archer of 4-H meeting The 4-H first meeting took place at the home of leader Mrs.J. Johnstone on Feb-™ ruary the 14th. The meeting started witht he 4-H pledge. Election of officers followed. A discussion on sewing equipment and comfortable patterns and materials. This unit is about Leisurewear and garment and books are to be handed in on the week of May the 22th. Achieve- ment Day is on June the 1st. Many floral tributes and donations were received from relatives friends and neighbours in her memory. Ray Williamson Mrs. Alita Williamson of R. R. No. 4, Sunderland passed away suddenly at her late residence on January 28, 1974. Although she had not been in the best of health tor the past year, her, passing was unexpected, and came as a great shock. She was born in Warsaw, Ontario, January 24, 1917, daughter of Emma Louisa Carveth, and John Henry Moore. At age 3, the family moved to-Fraserville, where she attended Cairo Public School, Cavan and later to Peterborough Business Col- lege. She was a member of Fraserville United Church, where she was active in the Sunday School and young people's - group. On Sept- ember 18, 1940 she married Samuel Rayment William- son and they farmed on the 3rd conc. Brock until August, 1970, at which time they moved to their new retire- ment home on a section of the original farm. Mrs. Williamson was a faithful member of St. Andrew's Presbytetian Church, Sonya, and a devo- ted wife and mother. Left to mourn her passing are her husband Rayment, and six sons, John of Sea- grave, Luzerne and Gordon of Oshawa, Laurie of Tor- onto, Lachlan and Alan at home. She is also survived by 3 grandsons, Kerry, Shawn and Steven, one sister Bernice, Mrs. Donald Lang of Fraserville and one brother Ernest Moore of Cavan. ' The funeral was held on January 30, 1974 from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sonya with inter- ment at McNeil cemetery, Wick. The service was con- ducted by Rev. Wm. Fairley, assisted by Mr. Richard Glass, Mrs. Williamson's one great wish for her church was to see all the pews filled and on this occasion her dream came trué. A police guard of honour from the Oshawa Police Force, of which Luzerne is a member, paid a final tribute. The pallbearers were six nephews, Laverne, Roger and Dennis Moore of Cavan, Wayne Moore of Lindsay, and Ralph and Ronald Lang of Fraserville. Seagrave 4-H Seagrave 4-H club met last Wednesday night February 27th at Seagrave Church. Blackstock News His many friends wish Mr. Harold Larmer a fast re- covery from the stroke which he suffered last week. Mr. Larmer is a patient in Port Perry Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Essery have moved into their new home which is located across the road from her parent's home, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Larmer. They have been living in Mrs. L.. Byers' home in the village. Mid-week guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Taylor of Enniskillen were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Toms and Mrs. Courtney Graham. At the United Church ser- vice a Lenton tape for the Carillon was dedicated in memory of Mr. Courtney Graham, a gift from his wife and family. Mrs. Ruth Wilson and Mrs. Alma Fowler were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Gibson. Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Graham and family were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Toms, Mrs. Courtney * Graham, Mrs. Reg. Boun- dey, Port Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kelly and girls. The members of this unit are Kathy Carr, Lori Clark, Arlene Howell, Laura Pro- cunier, Bonnie Short, Shirley Short, Elizabeth Zolderdo and Janice Kuypers. The four new members who were introduced to 4-H work are Karen Carr, Cathy Reed, Claudette Roberge and Judy "Thompson. Leader this year is Mrs. Eleanor Nicholls and also a new leader Mrs. Enid Belair. The Spring Project for this year is 'Clothes for Lei- sure." Discussion of this project occupied most of the evening. Nominations were taken for the positions of Presi- dent, Vice-President, Trea- surer, and Press Reporter with the following results: President, Shirley Short; Vice President, Arlene Howell; Treasurer, Cathy Carr; Press Reporter, Ja- nice Kuypers. Congratulations to the members who got their posi- tions and good luck to the new members and the new leader. With this committee, Sea- grave 4-H Club can look forward to a good year.
