There were 20 contestants speaking in four catagories. Judges for the speaking contest were Mrs. Ray Litt, Mr. Grant McDonald, and Mr. William Barr. Speaking on behalf of the judges, Mr. Barr told the contestants "every speaker here today is to be con- sidered a winner'. He went on to say that it may be years before the value of this type of competition will be realized, but when they are able to stand up and speak to any audience, the benefit will become evident.
