U.C.W. meet on Wednes- day evening. Ont. Holsteins Spring Show Plans are progressing well for the 2nd Ontario * Spring Show for Holsteins. At a meeting of directors, it was decided that the show date would be May 11th, and the site would be the same as last year -- the Stratford Fair Grounds, Stratford, Ontario. At last year's event, an excellent turnout of 273 ani- mals led by 72 exhibitors was recorded. Many of the show winners at that time went on to make impressive show winnings at later events. For instance, 25 of the B84 nominations for 1973 All- Canadians were shown at the first Ontario Spring Show. Clara Warren and commit- tee in charge. Prior to the meeting a delicious Pot Luck Luncheon was enjoyed, and three visit- ors were warmly welcomed. After the singing of the W.1. Grace, the members sat down to the sumptuous home cooked meal. The table was enhanced by a decorative touch of the Emerald Isle, and members were attired either in green costumes or wearing something fitting for the occasion. The meeting opened with the Ode and Collect at 2 p.m. Pres. Marion Bell conduct- ing the business portion, assisted by Sec. Alice Dodd and Treas. Jean Carnochan. Roll call - "Tell an Educa- tional Irish Joke", was most informative; many inci- dents, stories and jokes con- cerning the people of Ireland were told by the members. Correspondence included a thank you and a generous donation from Mr. James Owen.
