The new Queen was chosen as Michelle Robin- son, first princess Mary Lou Malcolm and second prin- cess Cheryl Wright. A lovely lunch was served. Everyone enjoyed the evening very much. They also played their recorder numbers which they bad also taken to both Peterbo- rough and Oshawa Festi- vals. Craig Larmer, senior winner of Public Speaking gave his speach, He Shoots, He Scores. Mrs. brink's three-part recorder group gave an excellent demonstration of their talents. They had also taken part in both Festivals and had placed first in Oshawa. Suzanne Catty read her winning essay on What Education Means to me. The parents visited the many rooms of our school. Congratulations, staff on a fine evening which only goes to show what good work 'is being done there throughout the year. Mr. and Mrs. Don Swain among guests at Sanderson Day. All during the past week Packs of the Pine Ridge area have been holding competitions in the Pine Ridge Cub Car Derby in Port Perry. On Saturday morning Cart wright A held their competion in Black- stock and at 1 p.m. Can- nington Pack held their competion. After this all winners from the previous competitions held a contest. Winners for the Cart- wright A were in Speed, 1st Fred Marlow: 2nd Law- rence Vancamp: 3rd Luke VanRyswyk: 4th Kevin Kel- low. In Design 1st Paul Price; 2nd Howard Bailey: 3rd Darryl luke: 4th Neil Locke. A good number of specta- tors were present for this event. On June the 8th the Cubaree will be held in the Fair Grounds when cubs will be present from the whole Pine Ridge Area. The official opening at 10 a.m. will be of particular interest for spectators.
