20 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, May 29th, 1974 Scottish lassie visits area junior farmers ' Port Perry Junior [Farmers held a meeting in Greenbank Church, May 20. A ball practice was held' prior to the meeting for Ont. County Field Day on May 25. Ted Smith, Vice President chaired the meeting. Min- utes were read by Ann Parish. Ted explained events for the field day and the dance to follow that night at Sunderland. Helen McJanet, The Scot- tish delegate was at the meeting. She showed her slides at the Agriculture Office on May 17 in which everyone enjoyed. She has been staying with Kathy Stone for a few days. Ron Thompson read his report from the Inn on the Park conference. Members were chosen for different camps and tours coming up this summer and fall. The next meeting will be at Parish Farm in form of a hay ride, June 21. 4-H Tractor Club The 4-H Tractor club of Ontario County held a meet- ing at Utica Farm Equip- ment on May 14. The meeting was opened by Jim Smith with roll call and minutes read by Jim O'Con- ner. Paul Harder and Jim Smith volunteered to make an exhibit for Oshawa Fair. Robbie and David Smith agreed to-da the demonstra- tion. Bruce Walker leader of the club explained jobs available at the 1975 Plowing Match. The next meeting will be at Brooklin on June 11. Robbie Smith thanked Utica Farm Equipment and Jim Smith closed the meeting with the 4-H Pledge. Pop and donuts were served after the meeting. A. Scott. Sunday School meets at 10:15 a.m. . On Sunday, June 2, there will be a Cub-Scout and Girl Guide parade from Utica Store to the United Church where they will take part in the regular church service. On Sunday, June 2, at 3 p.m. the Ladies Auxiliary of Pine Grove Church are hold- ing their semi-annual church service at Pine Grove Church with Rev. Keith El- ford as guest speaker and Miss Eleanor Stephenson was soloist. The First Scugog and the Cartwright Scout troups enjoyed a thirty-mile canoe trip from Pigeon River to Emily Lake during the week- end. The Memorial Service for the Utica United Cemeteries will be held in Utica United Church on Sunday, June 9 to 2 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beare and children of Oshawa were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hillis Wilbur. _ Mrs. James KE. Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Milt Parkin were Sunday dinner guests of Misses Bea- trice and Grace Davidson of Oshawa. Mrs. Jack Crosier, Mr. Bruce Beare and Mr. and Mrs. W. Scott attended the Convocation at the Univer- sity of Waterloo for the con- ferment of degrees, when Mr. Dale Beare was among those who received the Bachelor of Science in the Honours Kinesiology Pro- gramme. Mrs. Dennis Thompson visited Dennis in Sunnybrook Hospital on Sunday, where he is to have heart surgery. We hope he will soon be feeling better. Mrs. D. People on welfare, students, and others whose incomes fall below a certain level, are eligible for assistance in paying their OHIP premiums. Payments may cover costs entirely or only in part, depending on the nature of the claim. But remember: Membership in the Ontario Health Insurance Plan is not automatic -- you have to apply for it.
