This band, made up of 22 talented Grades 5 and 6 of C.C.P.S. was formed last September by Mrs. H. Kiezebrink. The children in the band received their basic training from the Recorder groups at' the schonl. With great help fromMr. Butler, a Musi- cal Resourse Teacher, much co-operation from the parents and the terrific en- thusiasm of the children. They were further assisted by Mr. Darch of the Musical Education Services who aranged to make the band instruments available on a.- rental basis. Since September, Mrs. Kiezebrink and Mr. Butler have worked with the child- ren twice a week after school; and Wednesday night we heard the trumpets, trombones, flutes, clarinets, french horns, and'tuba play- ing together as a band. Mr. Darch and his wife also attended to hear the thrilling performance. Congratulations Children, Mrs. Kiezebrink, and Mr. Butler; you time, patience, energy and ,practise cer- tainly has paid off.
