HERON LIMITED Brooklin, Ont. 416-655-4401 The Handicraft Guild [xhibition held in St. John's Presbyterian Church base- ment, Port Perry, in May, was a tremendously success- ful event, with a gratifying attendance of 200 interested persons from some. thirty towns as well as the sur- rounding area. Many attractions were on hand to delight those attend- ing, indicating a very busy year. Experienced members of the Guild demonstrated during the afternoon and evening such arts as; Rug hooking, Pine needle work, Presbyterians to observe centennial Events are being planned to commemorate one hund- red years of Presbyterian during 1974 - 1975. On Sunday, June 23rd a Centennial Service is being held at Glen Mohr Camp, Lake Simcoe. Dr. Hugh Davidson, the newly elected Moderator will be the guest speaker for the worship service at 3 p.m. Following the service a musical programme will be held. . . The celebration is open to everyone and a picnic lunch may be enjoyed on the grounds. there is not too much seating, so people are advised to bring their own folding chairs. There will be bagpipe music for the gathering of the choir and the pipeband will also be in attendance. Caning Leather Craft Quilting .- "Macrame and Pottery, Biving visitors an insight into -the work. Wherever one gazed, a variety of beautifully fash- ioned handmade articles met the eye, -- and many of these were for sale. The credit for this accomplishment is due the President Mrs. Sandy Sin- clair and her membership. They are to be congratulated on a most impressive show- ing of old (revised) and new crafts, and this yearly Ex- hibition has greatly enriched the lives of not only those who belong, but also those who attend and view these beautiful handmade items. Diligence, hard work and perserverance are required to present an Exhibition such as this, and we commend those who participated to- make it all so worthwhile. Association needs funds The Scugog Ratepayers Association is sponsoring a dance at Club Annrene Sat- -urday, June 29 to raise funds for the association. Paul Arculus told a meet- ing of the association Thurs- day that with the intro- duction of regional govern- ment they had to pay for hall rentals. "This means a monthly average of about $20" he said. The dance is being spon- sored with the hope that enough money will be raised to pay for meeting halls for a vear. This will be the only fund raising activity by the association.
