The President opened the meeting with a warm wel- come and the Ode and Col- leet were repeated. The meeting was under the convenorship of Jess Cham- bers with the theme of CRI CIN DIETS e Rock e Country & ENGI e Polkas etc. Agriculture and Canadian Industries. Plans were made to attend a Guiders School at the Museum as we will be Guid- ing at the Museum each Thursday in August. The new unit for the 4H girls this fall will be "The Club Girl Entertains." Ann Chandler offered to be leader and Norma Crowell as Assis- tant leader. Helen Fedyk reported on the meeting she attended about the service groups and the availability of the service for our Community. Plans to make a quilt block each were discussed with Elsie Pogue, Kathy Cham- . bers and Betty Ann Freeman in charge of the final details. Remember our W.1. picnic on Tuesday, July 9 at Elgin Park. Uxbridge, at 12 noon. Please bring your lunch, beverage and cutlery. Cars will leave Betty Readers at 11:30. A garage sale is planned for in the summertime to help raise funds for kitchen dishes. Anyone with articles either large or small to donate should contact our committee - Elizabeth Stichmann, Norma Crowell, Janis Richardson and Helen Fedyk. Watch for notices at your door. Grant Vizely on behalf of the 2nd Scugog Cubs and Scouts presented a cheque for $50.00 to President Betty Reader. with the money to be used for new equipment in the hall. Also present for this* presentation were Grant's parents and 3 leaders Pat Taylor, Rodney Chandler and Bill Bobbie. Thank you bovs. Our special speaker for the evening was Cliff Crowell - Vice Pres. and General Manager of Peel's Poultry . Cliff gave an interesting talk on the production of eggs, broilers and the breeding stock at his company. He also told us the highlights of his recent trip to Mexico and Europe.
