We have had many special events and activities at both Junior and Senior play- grounds in Port Perry. The Seniors enjoyed an all day hike and also a beauty contest. The winners of the contest were 'girls' Steven Goiun, Roy De Hart and Dean and Dale Lown. the 'boys' who won were Linda Chapman, Angie Stone and Cathy DeHart. Senior participants went sailing and were given sail- ing instructions by the Port Perry Rent All staff, and tennis instructions from Morley Davidson of Port Perry. Thanks go to these people for their contribution to the programme. Last week, the seniors took part in a 'games day' which involved ten games such as 'Monopoly', 'Clue' and 'Sorry'. etc. The winners of this event were Colleen Wat- ts and Dale Lown. The winners of the senior 'Art Contest' were Scot Boyd (1st), Suzanne Dqupe (2nd), Peter Waite (3rd), and Dean Lown (4th). The contestants - produced many interesting drawings. 'Junior Playground' child- ren took part in a 'Talent Show' and also participated KEN P. MURRAY Electrical Contractor Domestic & Industrial in 'Indian day'. The best little Indians were Samara Corbin (age 4) and Michael Johnson (age 7), both of Port Perry. Talent show prizes were given to Kelly Gouin (age 7), Danny Tomitishan (age 7), Joey Forder (age 6), Dana Forder (age 4), Kimmie-Jo Stone (age 6), and Lori Chapman (age 5). Junior children also enjoy- ed a Tin Can Derby which included eight events such as a tin can toss, tin can kick, tin can bowling and a tin can relay. The winning team was led by Cheryl Hiltz (age 7) of Port Perry. Thursday July 25 was 'Ho- bo Day' which provided a nice picnic, many games and alot of fun. Prizes for the funniest Hobo costumes went to Christy Armour, Jay Bow- er, Chrissy Chatten, Dana and Joey Forder, Karl and Steven Durham, Joanne Skerrett and Lori Chapman. Special visitors were Mrs. Bramham with her autoharp Marianne Smitts with her guitar and 'Joey' a harlequin budgie owned by Tracy Hogg of Port Perry. Thanks go to all special visitors for providing Play- ground children with fun and interesting activities. Special music by the St. John's Presbyterian choir of Port Perry and the organist and soloist, Mr. Norman Watson was greatly appreci- ated. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Slute who were the guests of honour at a dinner and dance to cele- brate their twenty-fifth wed- ding anniversary" in Utica Hall on Saturday evening. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mitchell on the birth of a daughter recently. Sincere sympathy is exten- ded to the relatives and friends of the late Mrs. Frank Kight, and the late Mr. Archie Johnston in their recent bereavement. We are pleased that Mrs. James E. Mitchell is out of hospital and staying with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Gray in Port Perry. Mrs. Walter Phoenix and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Corbman Ross Ifox of Dalry- called on Mrs. Cecil Harper last week. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sutcliffe are enjoying a trip with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bray to Western Canada.
