The senior planner, one planner, one planning techni- cian and one stenographer will be hired to carry our the responsibility the province has given the region. Mr. Ashe, who is mayor of Pickering, said a staff report only recommended two peo- © ple be added. "You don't put on the staff and then gear up the opera- tion to it," said Mr. Ashe. Mrs. Geri Langille, a clinic co-ordinator, said that 170 "potential donors came to the Port Perry United Church to give their blood. Sixteen people were rejected for various reasons. Approximately 175 pints were collected last October. But last week's clinic was a big improvement on the July clinic when only 90 pints were collected. The Kinsmen and Kinettes expect to hold another clinic the first Wednesday in April. There was an open house at the public school this time," Mrs. Langille said. "It is pretty hard for people to be in two places at once, so this may of accounted for some of the decrease." Most of the blood goes to the Red Cross Blood Bank in Toronto. Only rare types of blood are taken right to Community memorial Hosp- ital. All the Port Perry Kineftes and Kinsmen were involved with the clinic.
