Ashburn News The Sacrement of the Lords supper was observed on Sunday, Oct. 6th. at the regular morning service at Burns Church. The Script- ure lesson was Eph. 4:19 and Rev. McEntyre's ser- mon was entitled "Be silent - unto God and let Him mould you". The choir sang a Communion Hymn in keep- ing with the service. Instead of the regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Bible class, the mem- bers and several others jour- neyed to Fairview Lodge to put on a program for the residents there. The President, Mrs. Rout- ley, explained some of the" "history of the class. Then Miss. Chrissie Simpson took charge of the musical part of the program. An accordion solo was played by Ed. Jetten, and a" duet "Living for Jesus" ac- companied by the accordion was sung by Tony Jetten and * Michael Bulley. Three of our men, Mr. Herb Ashton, Mr. Sam Fish- er and Mr. Ted Heron played some musical numbers on the violin, guitar and piano. Arnold Ashton played a medley of hymns on the piano. Mr. & Mrs. E. Heron sang "Whispering Hope" accom- panied by Mrs. Heron on the auto harp. Rev. McEntyre sang two Thanksgiving Hymns. Miss. Chrissie Simpson and Mrs. W. Hopkins sang "God Will Take Care of You. A few favourite hymns were sung by every- one and Mr. McEntyre pro- nounced the benediction. Lunch was served by members of the class and all agreed that we should do it again some time soon. 3
