Playing the All-Ontario Champion Cobour Cougars, the Flamingos gave up two goals late in the game and hadgto settle for a tie in a gate the team could have bon. The two teams played a scoreless first period with Barry Heard in goal for, the Flamingos and Ron Fowler for the Cougars being called upon to make several great saves. ~y In the second period the visitors jumped into a two. goal lead on scores by Randy Fife"and Marty Kernaghan, but Robin Kidd replied for the home club before the period_end. - The Flamingos completely dominated the third period and outshot the Cobourg Club 18 - 5 and had goals from Bernie Aldred, Rick Campbell, Dave Jobb and Neil McLaughlin. The Cougars replied on a goal by Don. Williams, and in the last two minutes of the game, Paul Bevan and Bill Whitelaw beat Barry Heard, who in spite of allowing five goals in the game played extremely well in his first junior game.
