On October 2nd, eighty-one Seniors travelled to Camp Kandalore, near Dorset, for our annual colour tour. "Here we were surpris- ed and many unprepared for our first touch of winter. There was so much snow, the trees, glistening in the sun, were all bent over the road, and a more picturesque sight you might never see again. One of our more agile mem- bers went ahead of the bus and shook the snow from the trees. Upon arrival at Kandalore a piping hot din- ner was served and believe me this was truly appreciat- ed. On October 17th, we jour- neyed to Octoberfest in Kit- chener. In all, fifty buses from Ontario attended Sen- ior Citizens day there. We were 'entertained in their auditorium with a 'Bavarin' dinner, a program put on by Senior Citizens, bingo games and a tour of Kitchener. Leaving there -at 3:30, we stopped at Scarborough Cen- tre for our supper or shop- ping. Both trips were well atten- ded and greatly enjoyed. In November we shall attend Senior Citizens Day at the Royal Winter Fair. Our President, Mrs. Mar- jorie Wipper, and the Exe- cutive are working hard to further equip our Club room for our entertainment. Plans are under way for carpet bowling, and shuffleboard. An addéd attraction this year is Square Dancing. Many members are spend- ing Wednesday afternoons to learn Modern Old Tyme Dancing under the direction of Mr. Carl Manz and the New Horizon grant. Our bowling has commen- ced on Thursday afternobn and this year a few more members are participating. Still room for more though! Our euchres, every other Saturday night, continue to be well attended averaging twenty-seven tables. We are looking ahead to our annual Christmas Party and already plans are being formulated regarding this. Iva England "Monuments". The Santuary of Burns Church was beautifully de- corated for Thanksgiving on Sunday morning, October 13th. Miss Chrissie Simpson and her Sunday School class did the arrangements of vegit- ables, coloured leaves and berries and wild grasses, etc., that is found all around us this time of year. Rev.
