6 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1974 Epsom and area news Mr. and Mrs. Paul Baster and girls were luncheon guests with Mr. and Mrs. Kerry on Sunday. In the afternoon, Mr. and Mus. Nelson Ashton of Ashburn called and remained as sup- per guests. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Wat- son visited Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Watson and children at Scarborough on Sunday afternoon. The Sunday School rooms BURKETON Callers at the home of Mrs. W. Bryan this week were Mrs. Wm. Macdonald accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Orval Greer, Oshawa. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Ron Succee and family of Oshawa to our community. Mr. and Mrs. H. Macdon- ald, Bowmanville, were tea guests of Mrs. T. Bailey. We are pleased to have Mrs. T. Bailey able to "be home again after spending--- some time in Port Perry Hospital and with Mrs. F. Harding in Oshawa. Jack and Pauline Littley, Burketon General Store, celebrated their 24th wedd- ing anniversary on October 14th by going out to dinner at the Ali Baba Steak House, Whitby, and report the food is excellent. : Stanley Taylor was a Thanksgiving dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Taylor, WES PLUMBING - have been re-decorated and even the wobbly chairs re- newed and painted so plans are being made for a Pot Luck Supper on Sunday evening, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited, we will have a visit after and hope to become better acquainted with our newer neighbours. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Huggins of - Orillia visited Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery on Saturday afternoon. NEWS Enniskillen. Mr. C. Cooper, Orono, was a tea guest of Mrs. W. Bryan during the week. Mr. A. Hubbard, Bowman- ° ville, was an over night guest of Mr. and Mrs. T. Hodge and called on Burketon friends last week. Mrs. R. Davey attended a dessert luncheon held by U.C.W. and enjoyed a tour through the Bowmanville Musuem on Wednesday. Mr. Russell Macdonald, etroit called on Mrs, G. aitey during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Greer, Oshawa, called on Mrs. W. Bryan. Congratulations to Mr. Robert White and Miss Mona Patterson, of this village, on their recent marriage. Mrs. Mary Hambly, the former storekeeper here, called on the new owners of the store, Mr. and Mrs. Jack "Littley last week. Mr. and Mrs. Barry Bushell called on Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thompson at Deseronto on their return from Montreal. The ladies of the area are "invited by Trinity U.C.W. to a Thank-Offering service November 7th at 2p.m. when Dr. and Mrs. Evans' of "Angola will speak. Mrs. Mary Wilson visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson and family. The cubs and scouts from this -area are sponsoring a Bazaar and would appreci- ate any donations that you could give to their cause. This is to take place early in November.
