or -- i, Nestleton, Caesarea area news On behalf of Court Lady Snowbird and many friends and neighbours of Mrs. John Sovey of R. R. 2, Nestleton, may I extend congratulat- ions upon the safe arrival of a new son and a sincere get well wish, for Dianne must undergo surgery for gall bladder, or something along that line. Our prayers are with Diane and we all miss her. So hurry and get well and come home, Dianne. "The House of Gold Shall Prevail". How true that statement is in preference to the tiny church in Caesarea. I have made several inquir- ies as to it's year of erection, but to no avail. This tiny church, apparently was used as a summer place of wor- ship for the residences of William's Point many, many years ago. It has since been used as a place of worship for several religious deno- minations. "At present, the Baptist Church hold their "Happy Hour' each Thurs- day evening from seven- thirty to eight-thirty, with a capacity attendance. It sad- dens me to report that the pews haverbeen sold as has the original bell, but still, for some reason unknown to us, it survives. A coat.of paint would enhance its beauty. I have been informed by Mr. John F. Raines of Port Perry that on Monday, December the second, from seven- thirty until approximately niné p.m. an evening of the singing of Christmas Carols, followed by slides of the "Holy Land" shall be held within it's hallowed walls. In our everyday routine in the Christmas Season, every- thing has a Commercial value and I, personally find that rather devastating. I was raised in the belief that Christmas was a time to commemorate the birth of the Christ Child, as many of you were. Can we not take a mere two hours on that evening to stop and really evaluate the true meaning of Christmas??? This is an interdenominational event so there are no barriers or excuses. Why not make a - point of attending and bring friends with you. Then perhaps the solomn, blessed feeling we knew and loved as children shall, even for an evening, return to us. For further details regarding this evning, please read the coming events section in this weeks paper. 'A friend and neighbour, Mrs. Jim Log of Nestleton, is once more a patient in the Port Perry hospital, due to a heart condition. These many friends and neighbours pray for her complete recovery. A wish for a rapid recov- ery is also conveyed to Mr. Jurt Gobkes, also of Nestle- ton. Kurt is at present af ° home but ina body cast and shall be for three months. Congratulations from the community are extended to the students of -Blackstock high school upon their recent honour report. Keep up the good work kids. : Just a thought....
