14 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1974 ~ Damage$3,800 inthree car accidents \ Damage is estimated at $1,600 in a two car accident on Highway 7A, east of Water Street, on Saturday after- noon. Police said a car driven by Douglas Frayer of Caesarea was eastbound on Highway 7 when he began to turn into a driveway and his car was struck by a westbound car driven by Bruce Stainton, 21, of Caleb Street, Port Perry. Council requests estimate cost of sidewalks An estimate of the cost of constructing sidewalks on the south side of Highway 7A has been requested by Scugog council. Roads Superintendent Ronald MacDonald was instructed to obtain estim- ates on the cost of sidewalks from Simcoe to Arrow Streets. Council received a request from R. H. Cornish Public School officials to build side- walks in this area for school children. A two-car collision at Mac Donald and Cochrane Streets on Friday evening, caused about $1,200 damage. Police said a car driven by Bruce McCoy, 50, of Bigelow Street was westbound on MacDonald Street when it was in collision with a car northbound on Cochrane, driven by Edward Wood of Cochrane Street. A single car mishap on Regional Road 2 near the 9th Concession of Scugog caused about $1,000 damage on Sat- urday afternoon. Police said a car driven by Jane Smith, 18, of Lilla Street, was northbound when she lost control of her car and it rolled over, and struck a fence. It eventually came to rest on its wheels. water supply Scugog Clerk Doreen Van Camp was instructed Mon- day night to find out if repairs have been made to the water system of the Eastview subdivision in Blackstock. A delegation appeared before council last week complaining about an irregular water supply. Last week, council decided not to reduce the developer's letter of credit until the situation is rectified.
