Rob Ashenhurst filled in capably as the fourth rear guard and had a few solid bodychecks in the early minutes of the game. This was a rough hockey game as the referee seemed intent on letting the high sticks and elbows fly at will. Lindsay opened the scor- ing on a goal by Steve Brooks, but Neil McLaughlin tipped in a long point shot by Rob Ashenhurst to tie the game. The Flamingos scor- ed three more first period goals, Rick Campbell on a three way passing play from Bob Marquis and Paul Had- den, Andy Litt on a rebound fromm Ken Jeffery and Bob Marquis from Rick Camp- bell on a scramble in front of the Lindsay net. Steve Richardson scored for Lindsay to make it a 4-2 game at the end of the first period. In the second stanza the . Flamingos stopped skating and hitting and had trouble moving the puck out of their own zone and Lindsay tied the game on goals by Jim Humphries and Steve Rich- ardson's second of the night. SPORT SHORTS Overlooked of late for the Flamingos, has been the fine coaching record of Bob Lee who is an assistant coach to Wayne Redshaw. Bob has a perfect 5 wins to his credit in league action when Wayne Redshaw is absent due to work commitments. Bob also handles many of the practise sessions and is doing an excellent job. The only injury suffered by the Club in the Friday night game in Lindsay was to time-keeper, Bill McCart- ney, Jr. who was hit by a high stick on the nose and needed hospital treatment before returning home. The Club received some very disappointing news this past week as Doug Christie, the high scoring right wing- er, is finished for the season - as he reinjured his dislocat- ed shoulder. Doug's absent from the club could be important come play-off time. . : There are still tickets. available for the All-Star game in Cobourg to-night (Monday).
