He said the Ministry of Natural re sources limits the size of such organization as well as the club's own policy. He said that the land was offered as a package and any attempts to split it would mean the club would have to go through the lengthy sever- ance procedure. Most of the remaining land is marsh, according to the club spokes- man. The explanation didn't satisfy all, however, some suspected that by 1980 "there might be a new club NOW IS THE TIME TO ORDER YOUR WINTER FUEL and policy, and new commodore, and 50,000 new members carting their boats to the waterfront." Outside of the smaller development area, club plans call for leaving much of the surrounding area as is. Only those trees at the building and parking lot site will be removed, said Mr. Lamorre, and there will be no change to the watershed in the area. Disputed at the nreeting was what was said earlier between a local resident and Mr. Lamorre about the club's attempts to relocate. One of those at the meeting insisted that Mr. Lamorre had told him that '""'at three or four other sites, nobody wanted the club." That particular site, he said, fell through énly after council discovered they could not legally allow the club to use the site. That decision came after three. years .of preparations such as land fill -- the club footing the bill. According to one member, the club has paid $400. a year toward the park- site. Of concern to some resid- ents was the condition of the road leading to the site and the worsening of the road with the extra traffic. The club, according to Mr. Lamorre, is willing to help pay the costs of improve- ments. He pointed again to the ceiling membership of 50 as an answer to those resid- ents who expressed concern about trains of huge boats on + boat trailers towed behind cars along area roads lead- ing to the site. Wheels win hard fought game 4-3 On Monday night, Feb. 17, the Toyota Wheels played host to the Fenelon Falls Flyers for game two in their best of five series. Both teams skated well and Flyers goalie Dave Jamie- son was kept busy all night, stopping 34 of 38 shots while Wheels goalie Charlie Dur- ward handled 20 of 23 shots. It was Dave Horton who opened the scoring for the Wheels. Randy Crawford stopped the puck at the blue line and fed it to Page who put it on Hortons stick. Don Tran set up goal number two for the Wheels as he took the puck down one side and laid it out in front of the net. John Scott finally put it passed Jamieson with 'Evans also picking up an assist. The Flyers tied it twice and went ahead 3-2 at the end of the second period on a goal by Tom Jamieson who pick- ed up a goal and two assists for the night. Again it was an up-hill battle for the Wheels. The tying goal went to hard working Phil Cochrane who fired the puck at the Flyers goalie and scored as he lifted his own rebound over Jamie- son and into the net. There were very few miis- takes by either team but mistakes caused goals for both sides. Mike Adam proved this when he let a weak shot go from just inside the blue line. The puck took a bounce that fooled the Flyers goalie and the winner was in the net. The Flyers played every angle and switched goalies late in the third period to give Jamieson a rest. Min- utes later, he was back in and finally the Flyers pulled Jamieson for an extra at- tacker but Wheels couldn't get a shot at the empty net. Charlie Durward kept the Wheels in there as he stop: ped shot after shot. He was as much a part of the win as if he had scored the winning goal. Final score was 4-3 in favour of Toyota Wheels. Next game is Wednesday, February 19 at 8:30 in Fene- lon Falls.
