So many of our children have been ® gvinning prizes and compet- itions that we thought we would like them to entertain us which they did right royally. The girls choir sang "Put your Hand in the Hand" and "Pass it On'. Both choirs from Epsom won first prize at Sunderland Music Festival. Then there was an accordion solo by Joseph Pospolita who won first place in a compet- ition for boy's under ten. The competition for Accordion Players was held recently at Barrie. Next Bev Rudkin and Frayer Lee played guitars while Judy Rudkin sang. Beth Underhill sang a solo. Beth was placed first in competition at sunderland Tusic Festival singing "Spring 1s Calling". Mark Kerry played a piano solo. Pauline Brown danced for us twice, one Irish dance and a Scottish dance. Pauline had also been in a dance competition recently. Steven Breznikar played the guitar and brother, Peter, played the accordion. Then the boys played a duet. Julie Ashton played a piano solo. We enjoyed the songs, "Paper Roses" and "Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head" by Patti Kendry and the Kerry four, Paul, Donna, Mark and Glenn. Dorothy Brown and Connie Sutherland, with a little help from Brian, sang a lively medley of songs. Richard Holy played his accordian and his sister, Suzanne, also played a solo. After singing the 23rd Psalm, Rev. Mr. Scott pro- nounced the benediction. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nursing Home News Tuesdays Church Service was taken by Pastor Payne assisted by Mrs. Payne, pianist and Mrs. Welsh solo- ist. The gospel lesson was taken from the book of Mark. Pastor Payne showed films and spoke on a tour of the Holy Land. Thursdays bingo was at- tended by twenty-one play- ers. Winners were John Doupe, Wm. Smith, Shaw Hamilton, Harold Herry, Charles Smith, Edith Byers, Sophia Percy, Mae Clarke, Bill Moroz, Pearl Myers and Mintche Phoeniz. Friday afternoon we were treated . to .a delightful concert by the Nancy Jeyes Singers. Several attended the an- nual Farming Frontiers Show at Utica Community Hall recently. The first part of the film showed the latest methods of farm machinery for planting, cultivating, haying and harvesting. The second film showed how to prevent bloat in cattle by adding water to the grain before it was rolled. The last film shown was the methods of farm machines used in days past or their first film presented 40 years ago.
