Education Week (continued) an unorthodox but very use- ful educational experience for the student. R.H. Cornish held a successful music night on Tuesday. The school got a head start on Education Week, staging an open house on April 9, that featured Science Fair project dis-- plays. Greenbank and Epsom Public Schools also reported good turnouts for their pro- gram of open house, as well as special sessions in the schools with visiting artists, craftsman, and other special interest skills. Cartwright Central School in Blackstock featured an open house on Tuesday, and the high school held a unique open house at the community centre, featuring the work of the night school classes. Sewing, art, and upholstery exhibits and demonstrations were shown. Rev. McEntyre gave a very fitting and challenging message entitled 'Follow me" to begin our eighth year in what we still think of as "the new church." The guest soloist for the day was Mrs. Wm. Carrell of Brooklin who sang two beautiful solos. "When God is Near" and "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say' and the choir sang "Peace be still". We are looking forward to an evening service on May 25th when the new gospelite singers from Wick will be with us. Several young people attended the communicants class held in the church on Sunday afternoon. Miss Mary Hopkins spent a few days with Mrs. Flossie Jones of Brooklin recently. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leger of Oshawa visited with Miss Hilda Hopkins on Sunday. Mrs. E. Heron attended the annual Synodical meet- ing of Toronto and Kingston last week which was held in St. Andrews Church, Scar- borough. Mrs. Russell Lunney visited with friends in the village recently. Mr. Fred Marconi also Miss Hilda Hopkins called on Mr. Orr Graham who is in Ajax hospital. Mrs. Clarence Harrison who is in Sunnybrook Hos- pital is feeling better and we hope she will soon be home.
