Cook A successful banquet and dance marked the conclusion of another season of Thurs- day Night Men's Bowling on a Saturday, May 10 at -the Legion. Following a wonderful meal served by the Ladies annual trophies were presented. The High Average trophy with an average of 221 went to Keith Ashton. Jack Owen was presented with the High Triple Trophy for his 842. A High Single of 359 won a Trophy for Bill Jansen. The Handicap Triple Trophy was won by Ron Whitter with 846 while Bill Mark won the Handicap Single Trophy with a fine score of 385. The League Champions and winners of the Norm Middleton Trophy was the Ballard Lumber team of Tom Eden, Jack Owen, Bill Owen, Vin Walker, Bud McEnaney, Bill Pearson and Roy Graham. This team was also presented with the Centen- nial Lanes Trophy as Season Pinfall Champions. The runners-up were the Tudor Developments team of Keith Ashton, Dave Mart- land, Ken Catherwood, Bill Anderson, Alan Ashton, Clarence Graham and How- ard Ashton. The Consolation Champ- ions, winners of the Ballard Lumber Trophy was the Port Perry Star team of Bill Jansen, Bill Shortt, Jim Rider, Wayne McCully, Hans Buscher, Roger Chiasson. Long Service Awards were presented to Don Murray, Don Wallace, John Beckett and Rodney Chandler. Jim Rider, owner of Centennial' Lanes presented Perfect Attendance Awards to those deserving bowlers. | A trophy was presented to Jim Hadley for winning the Best Sport Trophy for 1973-74. And two special awards for a Supreme Effort were pre- sented to Dave Durham and Gord Pogue. All of this was followed by the high point of the evening when the Jack Hope Trophy F. ALAN LAWSON CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT Licenced Trustee in Bankruptcy for the 'Best Sport' was presented. This trophy is given annually to the Bowler chosen as the best sport by all the bowlers on a ballot. After a speech honoring previous winners and outlining this years winner, the trophy was presented to a very deserving bowler, Doug Butt. The Executive elected for 1975-76 is: Past President - Don Murray; - President - Garry McHugh; Secretary - Jack Cook Jr.; Treasurer - Wayne McCully; Directors - Walt Sandison, Dave Dur- ham and Dave Wilson. Anyone interested in bowl- ing on Thursday Nights next year, should contact any of the above executive. ' To all the winners, Con- gratulations, and to all the others, wait until next year! gamed -2 Port Perry Midgets started their season with an exhibit- ion double-header, Sunday, at Palmer Memorial Park going down to a 4-2 defeat to Oshawa. The team bounced back to defeat Oshawa 6-5. Strong pitching took place, and both teams suffered from shakey fielding. Pitching for Port Perry were Larry El- son, Richard Goris, and Phil Cochrane. Another exhibition game with Uxbridge is planned, but no date has been set yet. Regular schedule starts with Richmond Hill, May 20, here. Track and Field competition at H.
