Turn down rural condominium Al proposal to council last week, said 75 per cent of the property would remain agri- cultural, each of the 52 units having a large section of co-operative farm plots for co-operative farm product- ion. A central sewer and water system was also pro- posed. The price, according to Mr. Wilson, would be from $15,000 to $17,000 below Oshawa prices. look out! Speeders in the Epsom area will have to slow down or pay the price. Scugog Township council was told in a letter from the Region that the police have been requested to provide some enforcement in Epsom in order to reduce the speed to the posted 50 m.p.h. limit. A region study has shown that enforcement is needed since vehicles are exceeding the speed limit. Region traffic authorities decided, however, that there be no lowering of the speed limit through the hamlet. A township request that hamlet signs be erected has been approved, however, and a work order to the effect has been issued. Marina incident A Scarborough man is charged with threatening fol- lowing a Monday evening incident at Goreski's marina. Appearing in Whitby court is 23-year-old Kenneth Rourke. Police said two men were arguing about failure to pay fes when entering the camp grounds when one of the men threatened to hit the other with a baseball bat. Recycling ratepayers Recycling will be the main topic at a general meeting of the Scugog Ratepayers' Association meeting tonight (Thursday, May 22) and organizers are hopeful that the meeting will initiate sup- port for recycling in the community. Although "the association will probably not become involved in recycling, assoc- iation President Bev. Muir said that the association could become involved in a collection-type project - a depot for recycling efforts elsewhere. The meeting, scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Blackstock Recreation Centre, will fea- ture guest speakers talking on the different aspects of recycling, from paper to tin cans. An arena "updating" will also take place in the contin- ueing effort by the associa- tion to keep informed about community matters. NEED MUSIC?
