Low water levels on Lake Scugog are unavoidable, according to Trent Canal Authority spokesmen, the result of too little rain rather that authority dam adjust- ments. Lake level is controlled by an Authority-operated to plug leakage. The Authority reported, however, that the water level has been steadily rising, and at this time, is only about three-tenths of a foot below maximum control level. From Sunday to Monday of this week, for example, the Authority reports water levels up an inch. There will have to be more rain before things get back to normal, however, and water levels could begin to drop if the dry spell continues.
