On May 12, Warriner Lodge Port Perry had a very special occasion 'when Mr. Claire Howsam, Lloyd Harrison and Ben Pickard were awarded their 25-year jewel. The most . outstanding part of the even- ing was the presentation of the 60-year jewel to Mr. Sam Tummonds, whois still one of the most active members of the lodge, by the Past Grand Master Brother Glenn Wana- maker. Slemmon and Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Ireland and family. On the occasion of her 86th birthday, Mrs. C. C. Jeffrey was entertained at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Hilton Ireland. Scugog boating mishap Paul Clausen, 45, of Bay Ridges, suffered a fractured" elbow and five fractured ribs Sunday evening, the result of a boating mishap on Lake Scugog, about 30 feet from the shore, off Lakeside Beach on Scugog Island. According to Whitby detachment Ontario Provin- cial Police, the Bay Ridges .man was swimming when he was struck by a 14-foot alum- inum boat, driven by a 15- year-old. Although police were unable to tell the approxi-- mate speed of the southbound craft, a police spokesman said this morning that the boat was travelling "at a pretty good clip".
