Seagrave proudly announces the arrival of two brand. spanking new citizens - a darling little boy for Mr. and Mrs. Ray Desautel and a brother for Darren and Joanne. plus a beautiful little daughter for Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Munson and Debra of Mariposa Estates. Congrat- ulations! We also warmly welcome Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jones and Kevin. formerly of Oshawa, who have moved into the new home next to the church. We hope they enjoy the hospital- ity that our little country village offers. Ladies don't forget! U.C.W. general meeting at the church this evening at 8:00 p.m., and please bring a baby picture of yourself. Unit 2 gals are very grate- ful to all the local citizens and business men who so gener- ously supported the advertis- ing canvass for our cook book which is being published to commemorate the 50th anni- versary of the United Church of Canada. Its gratifying to know that many people do still 'care about the little country churches and their associated groups. Recipe sheets are now available and we hope to have at least one recipe from everyone in the community. Sheets can be obtained at present, from Marilyn Puck- rin or Marilyn Beacock. We hope to have the cook books Nursing Home News We had the Historical Society Choir back with us on Monday night. We do enjoy the familiar old songs and wish to thank which has been so generous with their time and talent. Tuesday's service was taken by Rev. McEntyre for the Presbyterian Church assisted by Mrs. Humphrey at the piano and several members of the choir. The sermon was taken from Matt- hew 5. Mrs. Lawrence served lunch. Thursday's bingo winners were Mr. Samells, Mrs. Smallman, Mrs. Byers, Mr. W. Smith, Mrs. Letcher, Mrs. Balque, Mrs. Truckle, Mrs. Davies, Mrs. Myers, Mr. C. Smith, Mrs. Phoenix and Mrs. Norton. We are close to the big moving day but the date is still not definitely set. Most of the paintings are hanging now and the building very inviting. We are getting very anxious to he in now. Congratulations to all the Nonquon race on Saturday. It was terrific to see our village so well represented. Funds raised from this race go towards the financing of the Scugog Shores Museum which incidently has some very interesting displays. Do plan to drop in and visit the . museum this summer. , On Saturday, June 7, our Church was the scene of another happy event when" Miss Donna Bruce became the lovely bride of Mr. Guy Latreille. A large number of guests attended the reception which was held at the Port Perry Curling Club. Best wishes for years of happiness is extended to the happy young couple. Mrs. Morley Bruce extends Open House on Thursday, June 12, both afternoon and evening. Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Wana- maker, Mrs. Reta Boe, Mrs. Leta Doupe and Mr. and Mrs. Don Beacock and sons attended anniversary ser- vices at Prince Albert United Churchon Sunday. Later Mr. and Mrs. Beacock and family enjoyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock. Mst. Bradley Puckrin and - Mst. Ted Sturman were pleased to be guests of Mst. Jay Branton and his parents who took them to visit the New Metro Zoo for Jay's birthday. A bridal shower for Miss, Patricia Woodcock was held at the church on Monday Mr. and Mrs. John Graham of Toronto were home with her parents on the weekend. The park certainly looks considerably better with the grass all neatly trimmed.: Many thanks to Roy Puckrin for a job well done!
