The boys and girls from the rural public schools of Ontario County entered 282 posters in this competition. Most of these posters were well done, and showed a good deal of thought and pains- taking work on the part of the pupil. Mrs. Glen Owen, Art Teacher, Uxbridge, did a splendid job of judging the competition. The teachers are to be congratulated for encourag- ing the boys and girls to enter this worthwhile safety project. The only representation from schools in this area was from Reach and winning a championship prize was Jo-Anne Osaduke, Reach Central No. 3. Her prize was a Farm Safety Association first aid kit. Holstein type classification The Holstein-Friesian Association of Canada has received numerous requests regarding its changes in policy for type classification (Holstein Type Classification Policy Changes - 23 May 75). The original press release stated that the policy is "...effective in September, 1975". This means that all cows imported into. Canada onor after September 1, 1975, that have not been previously classified on or after their fifth birthday. Must be offered to a Canadian Classifier for classification. The September date, there- fore, is the date of effective- ness for both the time of importation and the time of . re-classification. The Holstein-Friesian Association of Canada will not re-classify U.S.A. cattle imported prior to September 1, 1975 unless the owner requests it.
