Bill moved into his home on Scugog Island about two and a half years ago with his wife, Joan, and three children, Barb, Bob and Valerie. He built his home while still living in Oshawa, commuting back and forth at night time and on the weekends. Bill enjoys living in the area and since moving here has become very involved in the community, not only through his business, but as a member of the Scugog Chamber of Commerce. Bill is an avid outdoor sportsman and appreciates the excel- lent natural recreation facilities available in Scugog Township. He opened up the Porto Pizza store in January, 1974, and it has been gaining in popularity since that time. izations Support The Community As residents of Scugog our hats should go off to the Service Clubs and Organizations whogive their time and effort to promote our community and help make Scugog an enjoyable place to live. We have nearly every type of club available and these people donate and work towards many different projects. Cystic Fibrosis, Heart Fund, Cancer Society, Muscular Dystrophy, just to name a few, plus many more things closer to home. Hockey, baseball, skating, judo, fishing and hunting are some of the sports they are involved in. In the community they work selling light bulbs, lending wheelchairs and crutches, collecting eye glasses, all for the benefit of area residents. We, in Scugog, are very fortunate that all of these clubs are able to work well together - supporting and helping each other. A good example of this is the upcoming Western Weekend activities where a large number of the clubs work together. Let's all get together - get involved in our community - it makes it a better place for you to work, live and play.
