DORA NOTT On July 11, one of the older residents of this town passed quietly away. Dora Nott (Gerrow) was one of a family of 12 born in 1886 to John and Maryann Gerrow on Scugog Island. Her sister, Irene Prentice, is the only remaining member of the family. In 1910, Dora Gerrow mar- ried William Nott of Port Perry, who predeceased her in 1956. They took up resid- ence here and she hadlived in the same house on Bigelow Street until her death. Born to them were three daughters, Irva, Josie and Gladys. Mrs. Nott was a very active person during her lifetime, always interested in the affairs of the Village. She was a member of the United Church, of the Womens Insti- tute, an active worker in the Liberal Association, and until six months ago, a regular attendent at the Senior Citizens Club which she helped to organize in Port Perry and where she was made a Charter Member. She was one of the older original town folk and she will be missed by all who knew her.
