Coaching course at Durham College Anyone presently coaching or interested in coaching amateur sport is invited to register for the National Coaching Development Pro- gram - Level I course to be held at Durham College starting October 7. The purpose of this course is to provide amateur coach- es of all sports with the opportunity to receive train- ing in the science and art of coaching. : The eight week program deals with and introduces the role of the coach, leadership and communication, sports psychology, Motivation, motor learning, growth and development, 'sports medi- cine, and principles of athlet- 'ic conditioning. : The program is offered in co-operation with the Minis- try-of Culture and Recrea- tion - Sports and Fitness Division. . Films and notes will be provided each evening in the program. The Blue Bombers won two round robin games to qualify for the championship game. Last Sunday they met Ux- bridge Tigers for the final game of the season. + Keith MacKinnon_put Port on the score board at the 10 minute mark of the first half, 5 minutes later MacKinnon ot his second goal of the game. Pontypool advances to finals First place finishers Pontypool advanced to the finals of the Lake Scugog Softball Association on Sun- day by virtue of a 3-0 decis- ion over last years champion Yelverton Rockets. The victory gave Ponty- pool the third game in the two out of three semi-finals. Dave Rafuse tossed a spark- ling two hitter for hjs second consecutive playoff victory while Don Timms allowed ten hits in a losing effort.
