A most interesting and unusual adventure story had its beginning in our area last week when Mr. and Mrs. Artemio Mazzarolo, Heda, Claudia, Juliana, Ives, John, Paul and Erman left in their converted school bus for an extended holiday. They will be visiting rela- tives in many stops along their way. Their. many friends hope that this con- . genial family will return to make their home here again after this story-book trip. Recently the Ridgeway Senior Public School, Osh- awa, held their fall staff party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Bailey in the form iof a barbecue, cards and dancing. Neil Bailey, Roy Turner, Roy Corden and Brian Ham- ilton, enjoyed a weekend with the Bowmanville Lions, at Camp Cleveland near En- nismore. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brad- burn, Oshawa were Sunday guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold McLaughlin Janis and Kelly. On Monday they visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bradburn. Miss Marion Bradburn of Toronto was also a weekend guest of her parents. : Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson Samells were Mr.-- and Mrs. Maurice Samells, Peterborough, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Archer, Bowmanville. On_ Monday, October 6th the Senior Citizens began another year with a pot luck dinner and the annual meet- ing. There was a good atten- dance. Special guest was Mr. Charles Smith of Port Perry who enjoyed the afternoon and visited several of his old friends in the village while the rest carried on with the meeting. Election of officers for the coming year produc- ed the following new slate: President Bert Gibson, Sec- retary Mrs. Ida Samells, Treasurer Mrs. Ella Ven- ning. Any new members will be very welcome. Winners at the weekly Sen- Marge Byford and Dennis Thompson tied at 80, fifth Mrs. Retta Hardy and Mrs. Ella Venning tied at 78. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Thomp- son of Toronto called on Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thompson on Thanksgiving Day. Glad to report that Mr. Marwood McKee is home Pl from Oshawa Hospital. Mr. Gordon Strong and Mr. Harry VanCamp who are both in that hospital are both hoping to be home again soon. Little Susan Kyte is in Port Perry Hospital and we all hope she'll be home again soan.
