26 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1975 News from Ashburnarea The Ashburn group of the W.M.S. met at the home of the president Mrs. R. Batten' on Wednesday evening Nov. 5th with a good attendance. The Scripture was read by Mrs. W. Routley and Mrs. H. Ashton led in prayer. The first chapter of the new study book was led by Mrs. L. Death and all the members took part in the discussion. The next meeting will be held at the home of Miss Chrissie Simpson and Mrs. S. Mc Entyre will bring us tne message. Remembrance Day was observed at the morning service at Burns Church. Mr. McEntyre's sermon also the children story was very fitting for the day. Two minutes silence was ended with the playing of the bagpipes by Mrs. S. McFarlane of Toronto' making the service very impressive, The Junior choir sang the anthem. The last weekend of the month will be a busy one at the Church when the "Messiah Minstrels' will be with us. " There will be something for all ages and everyone is invited. Mrs. H. Kerry of Port Perry spent the weekend with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. E.
