Cartwright H.S. student plan Christmas show, Dec. 18 By Carol Rushton Once again, the highlight of this article is young actors and actresses. In between ski exercises, float making, preparing for dances, and doing homework, there have been meetings for those - Cartwright students who wish to participate in a small Christmas show. This will be held on Thursday, December-18 at the "Rec" Centre for the Cartwright Public School students of Kindergarten to Grade three. This show is going to be played "in the round'. That is, we plan to form a circle on the floor for the stage, and seat the children "STAR reprints call 985-7383 -- TRY OUR -- Surf-& Turf Steaks Filet Mignon Lobster Tails Eon Jonn Gast Editor Emiel's Place Licensed Dining and Banquet Rooms Fishermans Platter: Port Perry PORT PERRY STAR Company Limited Phone 985-7383 Serving Port Perry, Reach, Scugog and Cartwright Townships P. The stories will. be based on the Christmas theme and although no arrangements have been decided upon, as yet, we - hope to have a few of Santa's Reindeer present. Comical nursery rhymes are to be acted out, and we may even pretend that it's the night before Christmas. Students from Cartwright have been running all over, bumping into each other, and trying their best to get things in on time, all happily caught up in the Christmas rush. There are costumes to make, Christmas carols to learn, decorations to pre- pare and of course, exams to study for. Although the muck and water that has been sloshing around here of late doesn't - really add much to the Christmas spirit, I haven't ao 7) Sap 3 (10m); ; rare 2, EA "Arion - AAR RA RA A er 8 J. PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1975 -- 5 News from Ashburn The Ashburn group of the W.M.S. met at the home of Miss Chrissie Simpson. As this was a special Christmas meeting several carols were supg at the beginning. The president, Mrs. R. Batten, conducted the meeting and her 'meditation "was: "the Seven Fold work of God's The scripture from Isaiah, the 11th Chapter, was read by Mrs. A. Fisher and Mrs. F. Daw led in prayer. During the business part of the meeting, Mrs." W. Rout- ley read the slate of officers for the coming year. Mrs. S. McEntyre had charge of the program and her message was given by each of the members sharing thoughts she had given each one. Which beautifully unfolded the Christmas story. Mrs. McEntyre sum- med it all up in a very meaningful prayer while Silent Night was softly played. The next meeting is at Mrs. F. Daw's home. We are glad to report Mrs. Clarence Harrison is coming along very well but at this time of writing is still in Sunnybrook Hospital after a bad fall and fracturing her hip. We hope she will soon be home again. On Sunday morning, Dec- ember 7th, Major, the Rev. S. G. Horne, C.D., Senior Protestant Chaplain at the Canadian Armed Forces Base, Trenton, was with us 'representing the Canadian Bible Society. Next Sunday, there will be something very different and special. A birthday party for Jesus, which will include breakfast, birthday cake and carol singing in the Church hall. Also, next 'Sunday will be White Gift Sunday and gifts are to be given at the regular morning services. * 60 Water St. - HILT Special Purchase of 3/16" | - Plate Glass Single copy 20c Ep 11s, Ay NW "enjoy friends.
