Hat-trick for Fellows in loss to Stouffville By Darrin Jobb On Wed., Dec. 17, the Port Perry Bantams lost to Pick- ering hy the score of 8-6, The team took 11 penalties and in the third period Pickering scored three goals. Scoring for Port were George Burn- ett with 2, Dennis Franssen, Bill Owen, Dave Canning and Chas. Brown with one --each. Assists were as follows - George Burnett 4, Dave Canning 3, Dennis Franssen 2, Mike Geer 2, Bill Owen 1, Tim Parker 1, Wilt Fellows 1 and John Robertson 1. On Fri. Dec. 19, the "Big Red Machine" defeated Stouffville 6-1. The first period was scoreless, but at the 9:09 mark of the second. Dave Canning picked up an unassisted goal. George Burnett finished the second scoring on a pass from Mike Geer. The third brought on four more goals by Dave Canning, Wilt Fellows, Mike Geer and Mark Cleveland. The new year brought on "some happy smiles as the Stouffville Bantams defeat- ed the Port Bantams 4-3 in Stouffville. One thing that coach Russ Stephens was pleased with was centre Wilt Fellows. Wilt scored all three Port Perry goals in the loosing. cause. After Stouffville had faken from the slot it in the far corner. less than a minute later Fellows took a pass from Dave Canning and Hal Storey for the tieing goal. In the third period Stouff- ville again grabbed the lead on a goal at the 7:21 mark. Three minutes later Fellows again tied it when he took a pass from George Burnett. In the final minutes a major penalty was given to Port Perry and Stouffville took advantage by scoring the winner at the 1:12 mark of the third period. New snow vehicle legis- lation---has--- recently --been-- passed by the Ontario government in an effort to prevent some of the needless slaughter caused by snow- mobilers annually. To acquaint the public with some of the important points of the new legislation, the OPP request all snow- mobilers to become acquainted with the follow- ing: REGISTRATION All snowmobiles will have to be registered at the near- est Licence Issuing Office, regardless of whether they have been registered before, unless the owner has al- ready registered the vehicle for 1976. All snow vehicles must be registered within 6 days of purchase or sale. In addition to registration you must have a permit to drive a motorized snow vehicle, unless you are driving it only on property owned or occupied by yourself. DRIVING Generally, you may not drive on the serviced portion (from shoulder to shoulder) of a King's Highway or secondary highway, except to cross, and this you must do only at a 90 degreen angle. SPEED LIMITS No faster than 15 miles per hour on a highway where speed limit for cars is 30 miles per hour, in parks, conservation areas or exhibition grounds. No fast- er than 30 miles per hour on Highways with limits over 30 miles per hour. COLLISIONS Report to police all collis- ions on or off the highway that result in injury or dam- age apparently exceeding $100.00. IDENTIFICATION You must show your driver's Licence to police or conservation officer, or pro- vide your correct name and address if not carrying your licence. When on someone elses property with your snow vehicle, you must identify yourself to the pro- perty owner when asked to do so. Failure to do so to an officer or owner can result in arrest.
