Special ser- vices, weekend reunions, re- building and redecorating projects were planned. Chair people were ap- pointed to head up commit- ties for various activities. Mrs. Shirley Baster is general chairwoman, Barry rand Lois Bushell are speaker and devotional chair people. 'Donald Asling, publicity chairman, Walter and Elva Kerry building and decorat- .ing, Faye Ashton and Stella : Asling, fund raising, Mrs. Edna Kerry, UCW chairman Mrs. Gail Kerry, Sunday School representative. Barry , Bushell, financial secretary, , Paul Baster, chairman to the , Board of Stewards. I am sure , before the next meeting we will know who will represent ithe Couples Club. ! The next meeting for all "interested will be held at the "home of Paul and Shirley - Baster, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. Epsom-Uitca UCW held their first meeting of the year at Utica. Our new ipresident Mrs. Donald Asling led the meeting. The Devotional service and lunch were prepared by Group 1. Mrs. Kerry and Mrs. Brown both gave readings. The business report for the year was given. Mrs. Asling handed her office as Sec.- Treas. to Mrs, Walter Kerry. We still have UCW calen- dars on hand. Various activi- ties for the year were discus- sed, such as a Couples Din- ner at Utica all possibly in ° April. A spring Pot Luck supper and program March 21 and we decided to cater to the golden anniversary for a member in June. Don't forget the boxes at both churches for used stamps, used cards, (Christ- mas, birthday, get well, etc.) and Maple Leaf lables. We are still collecting. Due to our postal strike our Regal Order had to be cancelled. The next meeting at Epsom Group 2, in charge of devotions and lunch. First Tuesday of the month. Everyone welcome. The Bethesda-Reach WI are also starting the new year with vigor and vitality. Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Boadway were at a couple of sessions learning the art of needlepoint. Presently we will have classes and we may all take advantage ~~ when they will teach us this accomplishment. The January meeting will be held not at the home of Mrs. Larry Doble as our calendar states but at De- heim. We will be their guests and aré invited to be present at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28th. to join the group for coffee and cookies; then some of their group will join us' for our meeting. So many of the older folks were WI mem- bers and love. to join a meeting once more. Will each member please bring about a dozen plain cookies. This is our cultural activi- ties month. Mrs. Croxall and Mrs. Hempen are the host- essep. The roll call is your waistline measurement (metric?) in 'pennies for Friendship. The Motto for the month is - The World is My Country - Mankind is My Friend, will be replied to by Mrs. B. DeBoer. Mr. and Mrs. B. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot Phair and Grant of Green- bank visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilson, Sunday. Mrs. Elmer Wilson was shopping one day last week and before returning home called on her former neigh- bours Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Asling at Fairview. Then decided to scatter a few more rays of sunshine so she visited Mrs. Finley Munro at Port Perry Hospital. We wish much happiness and better health to Mr. and Mrs. Drew McCulloch in their new home at Lakeview Manor at Beaverton.
