Seagrave and area new By the looks of this column, Seagrave went into hibernation this weekend or it was the love of football 'that kept everyone huddled close to the home fires. For the snowmobilers and the cross country skiers here's to the brisk clean air and now if it makes anyone feel better, Miami was only 56 degrees on Sunday. Tuesday evening met us with a wild and heavy snow- storm holding back a few of our regulars to the Annual Congregationalmeeting. However the meeting went as scheduled and each com- mittee gave its report with a rather justifying amount to lead in 1976 with. It was decided to carry the Sunday School's suggestion and hold a combination Church and Sunday School commencing Sunday, February 1st. Sun- day School will now be com- bined with" the church service at 10:00 a.m, with the students dispirsing into their class during the second hymn, However this is only on a six month basis and will be reviewed again at that time. Parents please make a note of this change and re- member that you are invited to Church also. PeeWees tie Markham Last Monday night Stone Real Estate PeeWee B's played one of their better games of the year tying a strong Markham team 3-3. Port Perry took the lead at 3:32 of the first period on Brian Mikkelson's goal, as- sisted by Mike Farrel and Daryl Carnochan. Markham tied the score four minutes later on a goal by Greg House. 'Port Petry went ahead again when Brian Mikkelson scored his second _ of the night assisted by Mike Farrel and Todd Healey at 10:40 of the second period. Markam's Steve Robertson tied it up again 30 seconds later. At 1:10 of the third period Scott Wallace put Port Perry ahead once again assisted by Simon Brierly and Sean Fewar. However Greg House tied it up for Markham at the 2:50 mark. Port came close to scoring the winning goal later in the game when Sean Fewar"s slapshot from the markham blueline beat the goalie but hit the cross bar. Everyone welcome. Asling note . selves out to attend. Each committee gave its annual report and on into 1976 we go with a couple of weddings on the agenda and the World's Day of Prayer. Our new president Mrs. Glenda Hutcheons, : chaired the meeting in her capable way and a very pleasant evening was had. The Units will remain the same and each unit will be holding its own meeting deciding their new leaders. - Unfortunately the weather co-operated with us on Sunday but the tempera- ture just couldn't match that bright sunshine and the skat- ing party that was scheduled for after Sunday School had to be cancelled until next Sunday and again under the weathermans approval. So come prepared next Sunday and hopefully we'll be off to the river for an afternoon of fun, fr Any of our girls who are 12 years of age by March 1st, 1976, or older are invited to join the 4-H Homemaking Club. This unit is entitled "Let's Make Bread" and classes will start in Feb. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Beacock and boys were a very busy family this week- end being entertained and entertaining, It started on Friday evening when they were supper guests at Don's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Leslie Beacock of Prince Albert. Then on Saturday evening "they attended a Wine and Cheese party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kane of Scugog Island, for the Historical Committee of the World Plowing Match. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rodd, Manchester were their guests for lunch and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gibson and girls of Port Perry were Sunday evening dinner guests.
