It is Family and Consumer Affairs with Helen Hortops group. Mrs. Emma Stephen has written from Estavan, Sask. to thank all the ladies of the "Head" UCW who remem- bered her at Christmas time. A lovely letter has also been received from Mrs. Flora Muffitt, who is now staying with a friend for awhile. She is very happy to be remembered too and loves to hear news of people and activities around her early home of Scugog Island. She is a person of great courage, faith and compas- sion in spite of her own disabilities. Mrs. Alva Thompson and Mrs. Bonnie Gerrow took a two day, needlecraft course in Uxbridge and are now willing to pass their knowledge on to others. If anyone is interested, please contact either of these ladies before Thursday, tomorrow. Many sad things have happened to affect island people lately. First, we lost our former "Head" neigh- bour, Mrs. Alice Pearce, then not much farther away Mrs. Ethel Redman. Our sympathy is therefore ex- tended to the Pearce family and to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Redman, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Redman and their families. Especially do we extend sympathy to Mrs. Helen Redman who lost her brother suddenly in Toronto the same week. We understand the sister of Mr. Jerry Taylor was finally released from her extended period of suffering. For her loss we extend heartfelt sympathy to ) IT'S A NIGHTLY AFFAIR to talk or listen to your friends on a new CB RADIO CB RADIOS & EQUIPMENT. April brings the combined luncheon at "Grace" Church and Art and Crafts Show at the Hall. Of course we shall pack a bale too and have our Forfeit Calendars again. May might just have some surprises along with the Hos- pital Spring Fair. June and July will include a Bake Sale and a Strawberry Supper. There is some doubt abut a chicken barbecue. However we can depend on a Turkey supper in September. We still collect used stamps and Canada Packer labels. We must not forget our Mystery Sisters, even if she is not well known to us.
