Somerville It seems that Old Man White is making up for lost time in the past years and is socking the snow to us this year and to top that off the ground hog saw his shadow last Monday, so keep the woolies handy folks, we're in for six more weeks of winter. Church and Sunday School were cancelled on Sunday morning due to poor weather conditions and the hazard of driving in this weather, How- ever a few who were unfor- . tunately missed on the call- ing list arrived for church at the scheduled time but took advantage of that hour for an enjoyable visit with their neighbours over coffee. The UCW meeting will be held Wednesday evening (to- night) in the Sunday School Room at the church in the form of a Layette Shower. Mrs. Carl Martyn will be guest speaker on the Christ- ian District Conference in Bermuda together "with showing her slides of that trip. Please come along ladies and join in on the fun. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tobin of Oshawa were Friday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Tobin. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Carr entertained Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Carr of Eden on Sat. evening. Anyone interested in joining in with us come, we'd love to have you. Miss Joyce Bruce has given up her position in the bank in Toronto and gone on to bigger and better things. On Sunday she left for Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Miss Andrea Simmonds, the 1974-75 All American Paint Horse Queen from the USA. While .in Fort Lauderdale, Joyce will be attending a six week training course in Paint Horse Showmanship. All the best Joyce!
