She also answered questions - regarding the Zone Rally in May when Port' Perry is hosting this year. On January 31st January, several members partici- pated in the Bowling tour- ament in Oshawa. One of our teams came in 4th and will compete at the next level. Congratulations Doreen Hope, June Symes, Mabel Cook, Mary Hawes, May Raby, and 'Wanda Durham. Congratulations were also Woman police officer guest speaker Theta Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was pleased to welcome Constable Nancy . Desjardin of the Durham Regional Police Department to the February meeting. Constable Desjardin began her career as a civilian clerk with the Metro - Toronto Police Department. After observing police work, she decided to become a police officer and received her training at Aylmer, Ontario, along with eight women and 350 men. The requirements and training were the same for women and. men. Upon graduation she served the Metro Toronto Police Department before coming to Durham. After a short presentation, Constable Desjardin ans- wered questions and shared her many varied exper- iences. During the business meet- ing the Social and Ways and Means Committees announ- ced the Spring Dance will be held on April 10th at the Utica Hall, Theta Delta sponsored a snowmobile driver, Eric Donnelly, in the recent Snowerama for Crippled Children and were pleased to hear that Eric completed the one hundred mile run. March 3rd will be ritual night for new members, to be held at Emiels. Several members of Theta Delta are looking forward to the Beta Sigma Phi Conven- tion to be held in Peterbor- ough on June 4, 5 and 6. extended to May Raby who will be competing in the Carling O'Keefe Bowling at + Windsor and a cheque was presented to her at this time.
