STAR -- Wednesday, March 3, 1976 -- 21 Big win for Bobcat Midgets PORT PERRY 3 UXBRIDGE 2 On Thursday, Feb. 19, 1976 the Murray Williams Bob- cats Midget No. 2 club hosted Uxbridge and came up with a 3-2 victory. It was 2-1 for the Bobcats after the first period with Robert Parker and Steve Geer scoring for the Big Blue Machine 'and Ed Newman scoring for Uxbridge. There was no scoring in the second period but in the third the two teams had a goal each with Robert Baird scoring for the Bobcats and Mark Chase scoring for Uxbridge. There was no scoring in the first period but in the second Uxbridge took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Doug Adams. In the third period the Bobcats tried to fight back but came up with a number of unnecessary penalties. Scoring for the Bobcats in the third period was Ritchie Lefort and Peter Lane while Doug Adams with his second and Bill Bayard scored for Uxbridge These two games were the last games of the schedule. Now we have to wait to see how the playoffs shape up, to see who the Bobcats play first. But until the Bobcats learn they can't win hockey games in the penalty box they won't be in the playoffs very long.
