Uxbridge near the end of the_ Bobcats tied 1-1 in play-offs PORT PERRY 3 , UXBRIDGE 1 on Wednesday, March 17, the Murray Williams Bob- cats Midget 2 Club hosted Uxbridge for the first play- off game of their best of five series and the home team came away with a three to one victory. It was a rough and dirty game filled with back-stopping . and poor sportsmanship by both teams. The Bobcats scored all three pf their goals in the first period by Tim Kane with two and Robert Baird. There was no scoring in the second, -but in the third period Uxbridge got their only goal by Bill Bayard. In this period, Ed Newman from Uxbridge was awarded a penalty shot and the Bob- cat's goaltender, Doug Larmer came up with the biggest save of the game.- UXBRIDGE 3 PORT PERRY 1 On Friday, March 19, the 'Murray Williams Bobcats Midget 2 Club travelled to Uxbridge for their second game of the' best of five series, and came home with a three to one loss. This tied the series, one game a piece. This was a far better game with both teams playing hockey like everyone knows they can. The Bobcats out shot Uxbridge but came up against a hot and lucky goaltender. Uxbridge led two to nothing after the first period on goals by Grant Moore and Steve Shortt. Peter Lane scored the Bobcats lone "goal in the second period to<put them back in the game. But Garry Stiner added the insurance goal for third period to give Ux- bridge the victory. The Bobcats on Saturday, March 20, travelled to Oak- wood to enter in their annual Midget Tournament. In the first game, The Big Blue Machine played Lindsay, and came up with a four to two victory. In their second game, the Bobcats came up against the home-town, Oak- wood, with the home town winning 8 - 1. This loss knocked the Bobcats out of the tournament.
