3 : 3 SN TEFL BRAN SH By Jean Bolan The Caesarea and area ladies euchre club closed their fun-filled season with a most delectable pot-luck sup- per on' Monday evening .in the home of Mrs. Ron Forsyth of Caesarea. Such tasty morsels as cabbage rolls, potato s.lad, scalloped potatoes, baked macaroni and macaronj salad, etc., tempted even the most minute of appetites. 1 ad- mire the members of the T.0.P.S. club that look long- ingly at the food and reluct- antly said no. Last week 1 stated that Sue Fowler won the award for the most lone hands for the season. That statement was erroneous and for that I apologize. Sue won the most lone hands for the month. Maxinne McMillan won for the season, with a total of 60. Congratulations, Maxine, Vice Shirley Jack- son, secretary-treas. Carol Oliphant. Good Luck, girls! .score of 11 to 3. The members of Court Lady Snowbird held their regular monthly meeting of Wednesday evening last in the Nestleton Recreation Center with 12 members in attendance. The president, Dorothy Lee, presided. The minutes from the previous meeting were read by Sandy Day. The financial report was submitted by the Finan- cial Sec., Marg Lee. Ann Lee gave a report on the bus trip to Toronto and said, quote older people without the help of such a lift. As the cost price for this item is in the proximity of $1700.00, we shall require the assistance of you good people. These are our own "old folks" and some day we may also enjoy this facility, who knows? So each club, etc., shall be approached to 'help "Give Our Old Folks A Lift', The old lift is useless at this date. Please keep the above men- tioned in mind, won't you? Lady Snowbird shall start the fund with a $200.00 don- ation. i The Ladies Auxiliary of the Caesarea Community Hall invited Mrs. Emmie Cox to officially open their annual bazaar and tea on Saturday, June Sth. Many lovely and useful articles were on dis- play. The tea tables were daintily set and the service was excellent. Well done, ladies! Definition of total despair ..when 'an honest young man lands a hugs muskie and thinking it still '"'out of season", throws it back only to be informed later the same day that the season officially opened at midnight the night before. On behalf of the commun-' ity, may I extend a warm welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Gord Martin and family. Gord and Pauline have pur- chased. thé new home adjac- ent to Lorne and Ann Lee. May they enjoy residing in this area. A prayer for a rapid and complete recovery are offer- ed on behalf of Mr. Harley Jackson and Mrs. Marie Crawford. Burketon News The donkey baseball game that was held recently in the Nestleton Park proved to be quite successful. The game was sponsored by the Nestle- ton Recreation Committee. All proceeds are to assist "with the purchase of flood lights for the ball park. It would seem that in our. area, at least, itis "that time of year again". Some pernic- ious weekenders have adorn- ed our lovely ccuntryside with refuse that they must" have found far too miuch trouble to take to the local" garbage disposal site. If this type of person finds clean fresh countryside so distaste- ful that they must clutter it with smelly garbage, why then do they not stay in the city or whatever place they reside? We are well aware Can that the majority of cottag- ers, etc., are conscious of our desire to keep the roadsides clean and litter free for their benefit as well as ours. I, for one, find our own garbage quite enough without the additional mess we usually find in the front of our property Monday mornings. If any of you that do this despicable thing 'fead this, why do you not simply stay in your own area and mess'it up and leave our countryside fresh and clean???
