Several from this area attended the church service at Glen Major on Sunday night. We are sorry to hear Christine Lindsay and Billie; Lindsay have the measles. We hope they will soon be better and able to enjoy their summer holidays again, Miss Vera Leach, Mrs. W. Routley and Miss Eileen Hamill enjoyed a visit to the new Toronto Zoo one day last week. Mrs. Ella Slack, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Slack and family of Beamsville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ashton and family on Sunday and also visited with Mrs. Lena Doble of Fair- view Lodge, Whitby. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Ashton and Mr. and Mrs. D. Ashton, Ronald and Arnold attended the Strawberry Centennial social and programs in Epsom. It was nice to hear that Mr. Herb Ashton and Mrs. Herman Kerry contri- buted to the program during the evening. Thought...Some people count almost everything except their blessings. Between 56 - 80 children have been present every day. Monday and Tuesday it was very hot so we spent time at Palmer Park and the High School sitting under the big trees playing games. Wednesday afternoon we went for a cool swim at Birdseye Pool. Thursday it was our Pet Show and there were so many interesting pets that it was hard to give prizes just to a few. Finally we decided that Jeffrey Brown won a prize for the biggest stuffed animal, Julie Walker won for the smallest stuffed animal, Sheryl Stver- brick won for the prettiest annimal and David Wood won a prize for the cuddliest annimal. We had a surprise visit from a big black rabbit. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs.' Green for lending him to us. Friday was Hat Day and there were so many nice hats that we had a peanut scramble as a prize for everyone. Thursday, July 15 will be Hobo day and Friday will be Backwards day. This means that everyone is supposed to wear all his clothes back- wards. So come and join in the fun at Playground. Brenda Walker, Director, Playground. Three cars were involved in an accident on 7A highway near the Railroadhouse Motor Hotel Thurs. day evening, July 8th, when one vehicle collided into the rear of the above car, causing it to go out of control and burst into flames. Police reports were not complete as of press time, so additional informat- ion of the accident was not available. Hundreds of people were on hand at the accident to watch firemen from Scugog No. 1 fire department extinguish the blaze.
