Raise $6,000 in third annual golf tournament The third annual golf tournament held at Sunny Brae Golf Course in Prince Albert raised almost $6,000 to be used by the Oshawa and District Association for the Mentally Retarded. Port Perry golfers took top honours in the four-man best ball afternoon match, beat- ing out a veteran Oshawa foursome of Ed Lupton. Dyson Brooks, Don Wotton, and Spike Tyson. To beat the foursome, the Port Perry team of Randy Knight, Dale McQuade, Paul Beare and Al Taux came in with a 56. Dale McQuade also won the afternoon draw in the closest-to-the-hole match. The event held under threatening skies at Sunny Brae Golf and Country Club, attracted golfers from as far - away as Toronto. Ot the total, Branch 43 of the Royal Canadian Legion raised $1,500 by paying for entry fees for 60 of its golfing members. "We are particularly indebted to Sunny Brae for donating the course free of charge," chairman _ Terry Kelly said, who added that all funds raised goes to the local association.
