We extend our sympathy to the Lawrence Nichols family in the loss of Law- rence"s father, Mr. Andrew Nichols of Pleasant Point. His funeral was from Lind- say last Wednesday and interment in Pleasant Point Cemetary. Mr. Tom Venner was able to be home from Toronto General Hospital over the weekend but must return for more tests. We hope you're soon feeling much better, Mr. Venner, and hope you are able to be back with your Seagrave friends soon again. During last Sunday's morning worship at church, Mrs. Les Third presented our church with lovely brass candelstick holders in mem- ory of her late husband, Mr. Les Third. While away Lee and Blair holidayed with Aunt Shirley and Uncle John in Port Perry. All ladies of the commur- ity are welcome to a miscell- aneous shower in honour of Miss Dianne Puckrin at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Puckrin on Saturday after- noon, August 14 at 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Seagrave ball team troun- ced the women's team in a Sunday afternoon ball game but went down to defeat against Mariposa Estates at night 18-8. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Puck- rin had their vacation to the Calgary Stampede and: points west curtailed last week when Fred's sister, Mrs. Gordon Smith, who was travelling with them sudden- ly passed away in Kamloops, B.C. Mr. and Mrs. Len Somer- ville attended a combined shower and reunion of the Jewell family at Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jewell's cottage at Beaverton on Sunday. Mr. Mr. Keith Barr was home from Norwood visiting his parents on the weekend.
