The Council represents trail users, recreationists and environmentalists. Its 17 members also include repre- sentatives of agriculture and municipal communities. The Council has been given the responsibility of obtain- ing the view of the public on the planning and develop- ment of a recreational trails programme in Ontario. In order to meet local residents and allow them to express their individual concerns, the Council is holding a series of public meetings across the province.
