Some of the highlights of the convention are a dance at the Brooklin arena at 8: 30 p.m. July 30, official opening of the convention at 1:30 p.m. July 31, and the Firefighters' Ball at 8:30 p.m. the same day. On Sunday, August 1 at 1 p.m. there will be a parade from the Brooklin fire hall to the arena for a memorial _service, followed at 2:30 p.m. by the fun games, which include a water ball contest, bucket race and bath tub race. At midnight the gigantic pyjama parade, a highlight of every firefighters conven- tion will form up at the Brooklin arena, and proceed through the streets of this normally peaceful and quite village. The pyjama parade will be followed by a dance. At 10 a.m. August 2, there will be the Miss Firefighter contest in the arena, follow- ed at 1 p.m. by a monster parade of fire apparatus, bands and floats which pro- ceeds from Anderson Street through the streets of Brook- lin. The parade will get underway at 1:30 pm sharp. One of the highlights of the parade will be a 110-piece marching band from Ver- ona, Pennsylvania, known as the Vanguard of Penn Hills, In addition there will be four pipe bands representing Ajax, Hespeler, Dundas and Mount Forest, and marching bands from Teeswater, Kes- wick, Lindsay, Oshawa.
