What a weekend this will be. We are hoping for participation from far and near. There's what's in store for. you. On Friday the 27th at 8 p.m. at Epsom Church, an antique display (Anyone having antiques to loan for this display contact Mrs. B, Bailey or Mrs. G. Jeffery. Pick up service has been given.( There will be awards for outstanding students and Senior Citizens. There will be organ music and a rous- ing "'sing-song"' and refresh- ments. Sat. will be a busy day beginning with a parade at 10:30 a.m. If you wish to enter a float, anfique car, horses, bicycles (especially) clowns, we also need any Disney animals. Come on kids and decorate those bicycles. This will be the first parade in beautiful downtown Epsom in one hun- dred years. At 1:30 p.m. Sports Day at the school. Horse shoe pitching, log saw- ing, races. At 5:00 p.m. beef barbecue (anyone who would be willing to donate pies for this supper please contact Shirley Baster 852-7433). At 7:30 p.m. auction of cakes and a quilt. This quilt was designed by Faye Ashton, appliqued and quilted by our industrious young women. Presentations to honorary citizens. Sunday, August 29th at 2 p.m. there will be special church services. The pair guest speaker will be the Rev. John Hunter of Aurora. Rev. Hunter is as fine a speaker as his father Dr. Crossley E. Hunter who began his ministry at Epsom in 1914. He married while on the circuit and the first child was born in Epsom parson- age. : As a special centennial project we' are proud to announce that we have made a small addition to our church and are installing washrooms. We wish to thank all those who have given so much of their time to erect the building and put in the necessary services. The well was drilled and we - got water at 105 feet on July 10th. Throughout the year we have been doing projects to pay for this project and many donations have been gratefully received. During our special weekend. centen- nial plates, mugs, pens and a booklet "containing the his- tory of the School and church will be on sale. By the end of August weekend we hope to have this project completed and paid for. Come join us August 27-28- 29 we will appreciate your support. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilbur, John and Kristine of Rapid River, Michigan have been visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Hansen. As the ten Hansen children were all home they decided to invite a few relatives for a family get-together last Friday evening. About thirty guests arrived from Scarborough, Willowdale, Lowell and Tor- onto. Fred and Sharon and children returned home on Saturday. Everyone will be delighted to know that the Ashton barn arrived and is being erected. It is as busy as a bee-hive at Ashtons and neighbour ladies are lending a hand to help Faye feed the hungry workers. Recent visitors to call on Mr. and Mrs. H. Ashton and Mr. C. Gibson were Dr. John Davies, Mr. Tom Notting- ham, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wagner, Mr. Ralph Veitch and Mr. Bruce Bailey. We are also pleased that Clifton is recovering so nicely from a serious heart attack. Mr. Ashtons sister, Mrs. Wm. McGregor, who is in Uxbridge hospital is still in serious condition. We pray for her recovery. : Mr. and Mrs. M. Cracknell had lunch with Mrs. Jean Neeson at Carefree Lodge on Finch Avenue in Toronto. Mrs. Neeson has not been so well lately. Mr. Gourlie and Mr. Lee who have been on the sick list are recovering nicely. Last Sunday, Don and Mrs. Asling, Pat and Ivan visited the Science Centre. Shirley, Cathy and Julie Baster had lunch on Tuesday with Trish Walton of Ux- bridge. Mrs. Susan Gale and family of Don Mills called on Mrs. Baster and girls on Wed. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson and children visited Mrs. W. 0. Simpson for dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Irwin and Mark of Greenbank were also there, Mrs. Taylor Sr. her son and daughter of Cannington also daughter Margaret who is employed at Black Creek Village were with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor. This was to be a picnic but the weath- erman was. very disagree- .able, Mr. and Mrs. John Moore were Monday Luncheon guests with Mrs. Jeffery. Pastor and Mrs. Floyd Wilson of Oshawa completed their vacation with a week- end with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wil- son of Toronto and Mrs. Mary Wilson of Uxbridge "were dinner guests on Fri- day with Mr, Elmer Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hugg- ins of Orillia called on Mr. and Mrs. G.
