Perhaps this month will be an improve- ment. Let's hope so! Several of our neighbours- are on holiday now or have " just returned home. Some of these lucky people are Mr. and Mrs. Greg Smith, lan and Emily who enjoyed a few days in London recently when they visited with Liz's mom, Mrs. Alice Monroe. London must have been a popular spot for more than one family as Mrs. Emme Burnet, Mandy, Jeff and Jennifer were also there for a week visiting with Emme's sister whom she hadn't seen for quite a long while. Husband Gord stayed home and batched it for the week. Miss Diane Puckrin and Mr. Gord Hooker are planning their marriage for September and Mr. Greg Billings and Miss Charlene Kennedy have announced their marriage will be taking place on October 9. Glad to report Maxine Lavereau is out of hospital and feeling considerably better than. she was last week. . Mrs. Lavereau of Orillia was chief cook and bottle-washer for her sonand ' family until Maxine returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Don Beacock Lee and Blair and Mrs. Myrtie Stone were guests at the Risebrough-Rodd wed- ding on Saturday which was held at Trinity United in Uxbridge. Mst. Lee Beacock was honoured to be the ring- bearer for this happy occasion and his mom was one of the bridal attendants. __Saturday evening and Sun- eo Regatta day Lee and Blair visited with their Grandpa and Grandma Beacock of Prince Albert. Mrs. Wilson Boe of Bea- verton and Mrs. Reta Boe motored to Kingston last. weekend to watch the Sailing Olympics and also had the pleasure of visiting with Reta's son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Boe. On their homeward journey they visited with several friends and relatives along the way. We're pleased to report Mr. Tom Venner and Mr. Phil Meredith have arrived home from hospital. Annette and Scott Foster enjoyed a few holidays with their Beacock cousins while Mom and Dad were vacationing with friends in the Lake Placid, N.Y. area. Some others who were en- joying a few days away from it all were Mr. and Mrs. Ron Crosier, Tommy and Yancy _who 'took in the sights at SSS SE ee Qa Ninnsew ( Niagara Falls on the week- end. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wana- maker accompanied Mr. and Mrs, Earl Martyn of Prince Albert on an enjoyable motor trip- to Sault Ste. Marie, United States and western Ontario last: week. Ellesworth and Louella: Kennedy entertained family and friends for supper Sun- day night in honour of their daughter Karen's marriage to Mr. Robert Bright of Oshawa. Best wishes for a happy life together are sent to this-happy young couple. Visitors at the Kennedy home for a few days are son, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Kennedy and children Jay and Scott of London. Now for the good news of the baseball scene over the weekend. Mariposa whomp- ed Valentia 19-8 at their game which was played at Oakwood Sunday night. And now for the bad news. Seagrave was thoroughly trounced by Pleasant Point - by a score of 22-2 at Seagrave on Sunday night. Rumour has it that one of ur_-faithful correspondents will be retiring as of the end of August and we would be - very grateful if some kind soul would agree to write the news in her place. Possibly one.of our Unit 1 members who are more familiar with the families in the area would consent to write it. Please think about it ladies and if anyone is interested just give one of us a call.
